Charlie's Appliance Repair

Big difference between "big city" Fort Lauderdale and "small town" Vero Beach when it comes to finding someone to service appliances. Having recently moved to Indian River County from Broward, I've found it exceedingly difficult to locate reputable individuals or companies that show up as scheduled. Charlie Rose from Charlie's Appliance Repair is just that individual should you require an appliance repair on the Treasure Coast. Having purchased a very expensive Kitchen Aid refrigerator from Jetson Appliance a couple of years ago, the ice maker recently stopped working. And as with anything in life, the warranty recently expired which meant I was responsible for the repair. Searching out appliance repair, I came across Charlie right here on Yelp. He had several five star reviews and seemed like a true local businessman. It's my practice to support local business and while I had absolutely no issues with Jetson Appliance, Charlie was cheaper. Or as my wife and kids would say - "less expensive." Charlie arrived on time and quickly diagnosed the problem. The ice maker was broken. I'm like "duh - I know that - it's not making ice." We made an agreement on price and Charlie even gave me an extra $10 off since I found an online coupon. Not wanting to burn my service call on the simple ice maker issue, I had Charlie check the dishwasher as well. It's a really expensive Kitchen Aid model from Jetson. My wife said it wasn't "cleaning dishes well" and that I "needed to have it fixed." I'm like - "it's almost new and is a top-of-the-line model." Wife indicated that she "cleaned the drain out regularly." Charlie checked the dishwasher (without an additional charge) as well and quickly found a clogged filter. So much for cleaning the drain regularly. Cleaning out the filter and drain area seemed to fix the problem and the wife is now bitching about something else not working. Charlie came back as appointed a few days later with the new ice maker and installed it without issue. Lot's of wires, I'm like - "just match red to red, blue to blue" etc. No issues with Charlie at Charlie's Appliance Repair. In trying my best at supporting local business, I always look for the small local businessman and then check the reviews. I wasn't disappointed in this particular instance.
