Downtown Loft

May 2010

Demo the back half of an old bank building built in 1926, Relocate HVAC and public restroom for business up front. Designed a loft style living area, 2 bedroom one bath behind the shop. Electrical was up grade to code ran in conduit. New gas lines run for the HVAC and kitchen. The old building was once a restaurant. The grease and smoke on the ceiling was a challenge to remove. We wanted to keep the original 2x2 ceiling tiles and we did. The ceiling tiles where cleaned and painted with a high gloss bright white to help bring in light. All windows were removed and framed for dual pane vinyl, 60% tinted hurricane rated windows, Doors were custom order 3-0 Alder stained with a dark walnut. Kitchen was an open concept to the living area. Cabinets were Kraft made with a bar added. Countertop was granite from Italy. Back splash was of 2x2 glass tile. The flooring was replaced with a natural Maple hard wood floor
