Generator installation

Apr 2015

This customer wanted an automatic generator system to protect her home and small goat and chicken farm. Additionally, she requested a gas heater and extra receptacles be installed in her detached garage. Mech-Elect took care of the whole project and now the homeowner is ready for hurricane season.

Liberty University turnstile installation

Jan 2015

Besides generators, Mech-Elect also provides physical security solutions for commercial entry projects. On this project we upgraded the entry barriers for Liberty University's Reber Thomas Cafeteria in Lynchburg VA. Using Boon-Edam's Speedlane turnstiles we added a 6-lane array of hi-tech barriers in conjunction with LU's point of sale card readers. When the student wants to enter the cafe he swipes his meal card, which simultaneously debits his account and opens the gate. LU expects this system to save them hundreds of thousands of dollars by preventing unauthorized entry and unpaid for meals.

Whole house Generator installation

Nov 2014

This home owner was thinking ahead. She contacted us before they started construction on her new home in Rolesville and requested we work with her contractor to make sure her home was built with a whole house generator. On this project we advised the on-site electrician on exactly what kind of transfer switch to use and met him during the construction phase to ensure it was installed properly. Mech-Elect then provided and installed the generator the week before she closed on the house.

Emergency generator service

Feb 2015

Sometimes its simple . . . The homeowner just purchased a house in Louisburg and it came with a 15kW home standby generator already installed. He didn't think too much about it until the weatherman said to prepare for an ice storm. He checked the generator and found it would not crank. He called Mech-Elect and asked if we could help. We quickly came out and determined the only thing that was wrong was a dead battery. We had one on our truck, replaced it, and tested the generator system to make sure it operated properly. The generator is approximately 10 years old, but ran great and was ready for a power outage!

Wake Forest whole house generator installation

Jan 2015

The home owner contacted Mech-Elect in October of 2014 and requested a proposal to install a generator/auto transfer switch on his 2800 sq/ft home in Wake Forest, NC. We sized the home for a 25kW, but was able to save him over 4 thousand dollars by utilizing load management technology thus reducing the size of the generator to a 19.5kW. He placed the order just before Christmas and we finished just after the New Year. Mech-Elect provided a turn-key installation and now the home owner doesn't have to worry about losing power!
