A small family owned firm, we specialize in residential remodeling, room additions, sunrooms and kitchens with an emphasis on quality, value and service. We are a full service, design build contractor, so we can walk you thru the design, planning and permitting processes as well as building the project. As a design build firm, we are able to tailor the plans to your budget, avoiding costly redesign, omissions and extras. We can also work with you to control costs by coordinating the entire project and having you, a family member, friend or relative do some of the work. We are happy to furnish references upon request.

We lately had a master bathroom remodeling project, plus bedrooms’ popcorn ceiling removal, drywall work, painting and etc.. Ruben who worked on our project deserves a special Thank-You for his great workmanship and mostly with his attitude of I-do-it-with-my-heart (that was his own words). And another noteworthy remark, as what Matt once told me what he said to his crew member, “Do it as what you would do for your own house.” Though there were some issues, such as, scheduling and delay (caused by wrong order or material supplier’s inventory), the job was well done! My wife and I are very happy with the final result! This has been the third project in our house done by Cerletti and Kennedy since 2016. That speaks volumes.

In October 2019 I chose contractor Cerletti & Kennedy to conduct earthquake retrofit work at our single story home in Pleasant Hill. I selected them from four contractors because Mathew Kennedy (Matt) seemed to be most knowledgeable about the California Earthquake Authority (CEA) Brace & Bolt Program. He knew how to follow the CEA contract procedures so that we would be eligible for a $3000 rebate and a reduction in CEA insurance premiums. The work included bolting 48 S-shaped clips and 9 L-shaped clips which made a strong, but flexible, connection from our house concrete foundation wall to the mud sill and perimeter joist. Our contractor followed the CEA installation rules and provided sufficient paperwork to make us eligible for the rebate and the insurance premium reduction. The contractor employees were courteous, friendly, and focused. Some extra work, to secure our water heater and provide a drain pipe through our crawl space, was provided at no extra charge. My emails and phone calls to Matt were promptly returned, but the timing and scheduling of the work was delayed several times by the interference of other contract work. Even though the 2-3 day job took 2-3 weeks to complete, we were pleased with the final outcome and the $3000 rebate. All considered we would be happy to recommend Cerletti & Kennedy to our friends and neighbors. David McCauley

The second time we hired Cerletti and Kennedy since 2016. The first time was addition, and this time bathrooms remodeling. We are very happy with the new bathrooms! Whoever visited our home recently have been saying, “Wow!” Job well done!!!

Vacaville Kitchen remodel | Jan 2013 | A straightforward "refresh" of an awkward 60's kitchen, we took the kitchen and dining area down to frame and started over with a really pretty painted white maple shaker style cabinet with some glass fronts. We replaced 2 large corner windows, then reconfigured the cabinet layout to replace 2 blind corners with new lazy susan bases. We were also able to rearrange the sink and dishwasher to accommodate a nice stainless apron front sink. During the process, we found and repaired some pretty substandard wiring conditions, as well as upgrading the kitchen electrical with the addition of new circuits. The project was finished off with great synthetic quartz counters, a subtle glass mosaic backsplash, rich hardwood flooring and new stainless appliances. | $31k | Vacaville, CA
Second story sunroom | Dec 2012 | This job presented a number of design and structural challenges. The owner was intent on ading a sunroom, but wanted a higher quality of finish than was available in a typical manufactured room. In addition, the sunroom and an attached deck were built on the second story, abover an existing deck at the first floor. To minimize the amount of bracing and visual clutter, we used steel posts anchored to a continuous foundation, allowing the posts to act together and completely eliminating the need for any diagonal bracing. To reduce the thickness of the structure, we recessed the floor framing into the main beam, maintaining greater clearance below the new structure. For exterior access to the new room, developed a really fun spiral stair, located about 5' away from the deck, with a bridge from the stairs to the new structure. We were able to design this bridge to be completely supported by the spiral stair and the deck, with no additional support members, for a very open and spacious feel. | $40k | Vallejo, CA
San Jose Kitchen & Great Room | Jul 2012 | This was a fairly extensive renavaiotn and addition. We removed the ceiling in an existing kitchen, which we then used a s a Great Room\Dininag area. without disturbing the tile roof above. Then we added on to to the rear of the home, where we located the new kitchen. The job was finished in synthetic quartz counters with a flush mount apron front sink, hand scarped wide plank flooring and a stain grade exposed beam ceiling. | $110k | San Jose, CA
Alamo Kitchen | Nov 2011 | This remodel removed a 70's kitchen, introducing a vintage feel, with a glazed cream colored cabinet. We used a large peninsula chef's table rather than island and retained a reach in pantry. The living room and entry got new wood floors, along with the kitchen and dining areas and we developed new archways at the existing walk-thrus connecting these spaces. | $35k | Alamo, CA
