N&M Restorations

UPDATE: manager Tom and Nate have been in contact to work out a resolution. Will update if/when that occurs. I hired this company to repair my porch. I was told 2-3 weeks and they would have it done. After I paid the deposit, I received zero communication when 2 1/2 weeks went by. I inquired to see if there was a date scheduled yet and was given the run around by Tom. Replies of "we're getting close...." or saying he needed to check with Nate, then no response back until I inquired again days later. I finally got a call from someone saying they would be by the next day at 9 only for them to not show up and when I called to inquire what time, they said they were not coming because they had to go do a repair (no plans to inform me they were no longer coming). I contacted Nate and got no response. Later that afternoon, someone showed up unannounced. Once he left for the day, I noticed they had brought all the same color brick. The job was supposed to be to match my house which has 5 or 6 different colors brick. I informed the man and showed him the estimate stating to match the house. The next day he went to the brickyard to get different colors and showed up with 1 additional color. He got no approval from me on going forward with only 2 colors of brick. He asked by boyfriend who is not the homeowner nor who hired them and his response of "its better", they took as approval and went ahead with it. I arrived home that evening to see the job they did, and it was not what I paid for. Several issues. 1. They did not match the house. 2. They did not match to color mortar of the house. 3. One whole row of bricks on one side was not even replaced. 4. There was mortar all over the face of several areas of brick. 5. Some mortar was missing in several spots 6. One side has 3 places where they did not properly space the bricks so there are small chunks of bricks with the big gaps just filled with mortar. 7. They scraped the paint off of a big area on my deck. I contacted the company immediately, the man that picked up payment agreed it was done poorly and took pictures. I heard nothing, no I contacted Nate again and he eventually had someone come back to acid wash the bricks and fill in the mortar. Someone came out and filled in the mortar and that's it. I asked about the other concerns and he told me it was not his problem and he would talk to Nate and when he left, he left mortar all over my deck. I've sent pictures to Nate, contacted several times and he clearly does not stand by the "quality" work they supposedly do. I asked him to come inspect the job his self, he ignored that. I inquired multiple times and sent pictures. He has given me nothing but the run around. His solution he said was to cover the area that looks like crap with my drain spout. He blames the number of customers he has on the lack of any sort of communication. He told me someone would be out on 7/14 to fix the mistakes. On 7/14 no one showed up so I contacted again and he told me no one was coming. He said as soon as they finished the current job he would send someone out to redo the "7 bricks" (there is an issue with more than 7 bricks). As of current, no one has shown up and he ignores my inquiries. When he came to give the estimate, I should have followed my gut then when he told my boyfriend that they can get the job done quick because "all my guys are of the Mexican decent, you just put a brick in their hand and they go". That comment should have set of red flags on what kind of person we were dealing with. Unfortunately these current times getting contractors out has been challenging so we settled to be able to get the job done. Nate, if you truly stand by your work, perhaps get someone out to fix my porch to give me what I paid for, or refund me (for everything but the steps since those seem to be correct) so I can hire someone to come make it right. If it was an option, I would post all the pictures to show the work that was done. They are available to anyone looking to examples to decide who to go with.

N & M did a terrific job on my stamped concrete patio. Very professional and willing to work with us. We will definitely use them for future projects. Nate, Tom and the crew were a pleasure to work with.

We are currently rehabbing a house and have had to have extensive brick work and concrete work done. The crew did these jobs efficiently, removing all the tons of old concrete immediately. The guys were super nice, and the communication between Tom, Nate and me was absolutely the best. I look forward to working with N and M Construction in the near future!
