A Drain Cleaner

Customer called about a clogged main sewer line. After trying to cable the line, the cable was caught in the line and unable to pass through the line, we were able to get our cable unstuck and after a video camera inspection revealed a collapsed line we quickly grabbed our locating equipment and located the exact spot to dig the problem area up. After digging up the line it became aware to us that the line was made of Orangeburg pipe used from the 1860's through the 1970's. Orangeburg is a fiber pipe made from layers of wood pulp and known for rotting and causing drainage issues. We cut out the bad section of pipe and then rebuilt the section of pipe as well as installed a mainline clean out for future access to clogged lines with the drain machine. After rebuilding the section of pipe we ran our drain cable from the newly installed clean out 75ft to the city sewer main we were able to repair the line and get it open and working again for the customer! This was a temporary fix as the customer understood that the entire line from the house to the city main was made from this notorious Orangeburg pipe. Luckily we were able to get the line open and get the customer back in business until a later date when they are able to properly address the issue and replace the entire sewer line. Customer called with a backed up rental property. The property has multiple apartments. This clog was backing up the entire building. We quickly got there and found that there was no quick access to a clean out to cable the line with our drain machine. We then had to remove the toilet so we could run our cable down the main sewer line. Thank goodness we did because we pulled out plastic trash bags. You can only imagine the things we pull out of drains. After we removed the clog and opened the line we reset the toilet with a new wax seal and reattached the supply line to the toilet tank. The line is now open and the entire apartment complex is back in business.

Customer had an old cast iron sink they wanted removed and replaced. They wanted a deep sink and asked for Kohler specifically. We found the perfect 9 in depth Kohler Verse drop in stainless steel sink. We removed the old cast iron sink by removing the sink basket, filtered water dispenser and trap assembly, as well as the garbage disposal and the faucet. We set the new sink with the new Kohler basket. Reinstalled the trap system, garbage disposal, filtered water dispenser and the new faucet.
