My name is Brian O'Shea, and I am the owner of Pioneer Contracting. Although I am new to your area, Pioneer Contracting has been very successfully established in the Chicago area for over 20 years. In August of 2014, being drawn to the landscape, the people, and the general way of life, I decided to relocate to the Watertown area. Must be the snow. I bring with me, the same mission that that originally fueled my desire to become a contractor. After working for a handful of contractors, as a carpenter, I saw the negative side of the construction industry. I saw inflated estimates, sub standard workmanship, and the blatant disregard for fairness to the client and there family. I have always been in charge of the work being done, whether as a foreman, or a superintendent. In that position, the relationship that was created with the home owner, would sometimes become very friendly. At the end of the project I would see the unnecessary spending, and it never sat easy with me. I knew there had to be a better way to treat the client, while still making a fair wage as a contractor. I wanted to be a pioneer in the industry.... And Pioneer Contracting was born. It has been my mission to educate my clients on ALL aspects involved with our projects. From design ideas and product selection, scheduling strategy, construction techniques, and every cost associated with the project. It has always been my policy to share my estimates with my clients, to show all of the costs of the project. By doing so, the client can see that I have not added any unnecessary costs, whether it be in labor or materials. After 20 years in Chicago, I have a large percentage of clients that prefer to work with me on a time and material bases. They have been with me for years, and understand my policy. With that, they are provided the original receipts for the project, and simply pay for the labor involved. As Pioneer Contracting is extremely diversified, and has a history of success with any kind of Residential, Commercial, and Industrial remodeling, I prefer to work with the families, in a more personal environment. Whether it be a full Kitchen or Bathroom remodel, a Basement finish, or just a drywall repair, I feel that the relationship between the client and the contractor should be built on trust, and confidence.
