Deans Roofing and Construction

We paid a deposit of $2,350 for some repair work in October 2019. Kept getting brushed off for scheduling, so we eventually just requested our deposit refunded in February 2020. By May we decided to file in small claims for non-performance, but the business address is no longer in use. Made contact one last time before we intended to file against Chris and Rob personally, and received a response proposing a $400 monthly re-payment plan. Received a single payment of $400 in June 2020 and have since been ghosted, even after many multiple requests. So far we’re out over $2k (including fees for court filings) and no work was ever performed.

ZERO STARS I agree with the other reviews that talked about inadequate work. Everything that Deans did for us did not comply with code and had to be redone. Please, do not use Deans Construction unless you don't want any of your work to be up to code and want to turn around and hire a competent contractor to redo all of the work. Once a check is handed over, be prepared to have your job take longer because they will not be back for awhile. Get used to not having your calls returned until they need money again. Seriously, NOTHING was done to code and it cost us a lot of time and money to have things redone. I regret ever contacting them. If anything, please learn from my mistake. Hire someone like JOMA or another reputable company.

Our rating is 0 Stars The experience we had with Deans Construction was a nightmare. Unprofessional, incompetent and incomplete. Plus, a great deal of the work that they did work on had to be hired to redo by another contractor because Deans Construction left us with an incomplete renovation and many Building Code violations. Our Original renovation project with them was for $110,000 and it costs us over an additional $35,000 with other contractors to fix their horrible mistakes and complete the job that Deans construction Never returned to work on after receiving a draw check for $11,000 —-they received over $90,000 from us in total. We never saw Chris Deans again—would not return phone calls and his business office packed up, closed and disappeared off the face of the earth! And most importantly—-his company does not have a Building Contractors License!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Despite his clever misleading claims. When we tried to make a claim with his insurance company, we were informed his policy number was not accurate and the policy that he did have was cancelled due to NON-payment of premiums. The company also falsely advertised they were members of The Better Business Bureau, Athens Area Builders Association and Lake Oconee Builder’s Association........all untrue. We trusted him and learned way too late We should have never believed any information he presented or positive reviews.
