Kitchen & Morning Room Remodel | Apr 2014 | Palmer Custom Builders wanted to create a more sophisticated yet functional kitchen for this young family. White cabinets were replaced with a traditional, rich wood style with more intricate yet not overly ornate trim work that's more in keeping with the home's decor. For the countertops, the homeowner selected new granite with varied shades of tan and brown to add contrast and texture. White backsplash tile was replaced with more-natural looking materials that add a sophisticated touch. Updated appliances complete the functionality of the makeover. | Charlotte, NC
Pergola Addition | Apr 2014 | We created a pergola that would allow these homeowners to enjoy the beauty of their garden from a more sheltered location. | Charlotte, NC
Award-winning sunroom | Apr 2014 | This addition transformed an unused screened porch with framing issues and a patterned concrete floor set at a different level from the main home, into a beautiful and functional sunroom that is right at home in this traditional Cape Cod. This project captured a 2013 NARI Coty Award for Residential Addition Under $100,000. | Charlotte, NC
Historic Home Addition | Apr 2014 | The goal of this project was to give a family much-needed additional square footage and functionality in a historic, 100-year-old home. The result of the renovations is a home that pays homage to its historic past yet is designed for the way its owners live today. The 1,100-square-foot addition included a large master bedroom suite, spacious gourmet kitchen, gracious gathering room, a large laundry room, an additional powder room and a covered porch. A two-car carport, workshop area, potting shed area and driveway were also added. | Charlotte, NC
Kitchen Renovation | Apr 2014 | This kitchen renovation transformed a outdated kitchen into a professional, gourmet kitchen that allowed the homeowners to cook in the manner they envisioned. Highlights include a 48" Thermador Pro Range, a warming drawer, a touch microwave drawer that extends from within the island, a new counter-depth refrigerator and a touch faucet that eases messy tasks. | Charlotte, NC
Covered porch addition | Apr 2014 | These homeowners wanted to create a covered porch that would shelter them from the elements and allow them to enjoy their fabulous lake and golf course views. With a one-story bay window on one side, a two-story bay window tower on the other, and a half-arch transom window above the back door, the main challenge was determining how to attach a covered porch to the home and make it look as it if had always been there, rather than as it were a late addition. We carefully removed the half-arch window, and then tied the new covered porch in from wall to wall. | Charlotte, NC
Covered porch addition | Apr 2014 | These homeowners had an open patio overlooking their beautiful pool that was too exposed to use. We created a beautiful and functional roof that gave them the shade they required and blended with the traditional and elegant style of the existing home. | Charlotte, NC |
