Jacob Neufeld, founder of Crosstown Custom Homes, started his career in Europe as a masonry apprentice. From Germany, he immigrated to South America where he married and had four children. Jacob and the family moved to Canada in 1957 where he worked as a masonry sub-contractor and built a few dozen homes. Finally in 1965, Jacob moved his family again, this time to Rochester, NY. Since then Crosstown has completed numerous communities and built lasting ties with many hundreds of satisfied customers. Many have returned to have a second home built by Crosstown. The company motto that Jacob instilled in his two sons, and that is still part of the mission statement of the company is "Build it as if it were your own." In 1980, Jacob handed the reins to his sons, Rudy and Robert, and together they have expanded Crosstown into one of the premier custom home building companies in the area. With Rudy and Robert at the helm, a pattern of steady growth has characterized the company, even during the toughest economic times.
