Grandpa's Farm

Sep 2015

This project consisted of remodeling an old farm house on the outside and adding a 2400 sq. ft. addition along with a three car garage with living space above. The old farm house had ship lap siding on it to start with and we removed it and put log siding with full log corners to match the full log addition. The addition is full log with timber frame roof structure and a full timber frame pavilion with a wood burning fireplace of which has a long range view of Grandfather Mountain. We added a full wrap around porch with hemlock post to the old farm house. We also redone the interior steps of the farm house and put in a log staircase. This project had it's challenges of new construction along with remodeling and to have it to where the owners could come up every weekend and stay in the farm house and live as though there was no construction going on at all.

Took existing house and brick patio and added a screened porch over the patio to match with the house style. Homeowners, wanted it to appear as though the screened porch had always been with the house and we succeeded with it.

Joyner Mountain Retreat

Jan 2014

This small mountain home has the look and feel of a cabin on the inside with hardie siding on the outside. This is a 1008 sq ft stick built constructed home outside of Sparta. The couple wanted very low up keep on the outside, but wanted the cabin feel on the inside. For the inside we put t&g on the walls and accented with beams on the ceiling to give it the feel of a log cabin.
