I hired Key Key Cleaning (owned and operated by Cleveland Smith) at the end of June to pressure wash my roof, pool area, and driveway. It was the worst experience I've ever had with job quality and being able to achieve a resolution to the resulting issues. If interested in details and photos, read on. It took these people two days to do this job (longer than anyone in the past). I assumed it was going to be an excellent job....wrong!!! After the first day, I noticed guy doing the pressure washing didn't bother to move the grill or the planters to pressure was beneath them. I mentioned it to the owner and he had the guy go back and redo those areas the next day. In addition, I have a lot of items (shelves, furniture, storage, etc.) in the area. Anyone I've had in the past has always put things back after pressure washing (plus or minus a few inches). None of it was put back in place with this company. I'm a fairly trusting person and it's my own fault that I didn't do a thorough inspection prior to making payment. While I was putting the things back in place around the pool the next day, I noticed I had a lot of screen damage. Every screen panel was replaced 2 to 3 years ago and there was absolutely no damage to the screening. Now I have many panels that have been damaged by the pressure washer. At this point, I started wondering about the quality of the job on the roof and checked it out. Not surprisingly, it was pathetic. Mr. Smith claims the screen damage was not done by his employee, but as a result of insect damage. Really!!!. Ridiculously Absurd!!! I must have had a swarm of artistic screen eating insects to attack to screen overnight right after the pressure washing (See photos) Interestingly enough, the neighbor's screens were not attacked. Maybe after eating so much of my screen, they were no longer hungry.....but I digress....I asked Mr. Smith to bring the pressure washer via text and to spray an area that was already damaged to see if the damage would match. I received no reply. I realize it's my word against his and there is nothing I can do about it. However, just the quality of the job itself should raise a red flag for anyone considering this company for a job (See photos). I did have Mr. Smith come and look at the damage and the poor quality of the pressure washing. He did agree to redo the washing of the pool area and the roof (acknowledgment of the poor job in my mind), but not to repair the screen damage. I was already extremely upset and declined any further work by his company (but he did offer). For one thing, I didn't want any additional damage to the screening and it was just wrong (in my opinion) that he wouldn't accept responsibility for the screen damage (Again, my word against his). However, when I hire someone to do a job, I expect it to be done right the first time and not have to go back and forth with issues and issue resolution. I have already accepted the fact that I have the worst pressure washing job past, present, and future and that I will have to cover the cost of repairing the screen. For anyone considering this company for a job, please be cautious. In my opinion, their quality of work is terrible, and the owner is unethical. Update: It's now September and I still have no resolution. I'm out almost $1300 after screen repair. Mr. Smith still claims the screen damage was caused by insects and refuses to cover the repair costs.
