Electrician - Wilmette, IL
5.0
Electrical contractor and lighting designer, working principally on the North Shore for more than 30 years. Most of my work is in residential, but I have been involved in commercial projects as well. I'm licensed and insured, and I'm known for fair pricing, attention to detail, and good communications. This has resulted in repeat business with a number of customers for 20 to 25 years - some are pushing 30 years! I offer extensive experience in houses over 100 years old, giving me the ability to quickly assess the condition of an electrical system in your home. My specialty is turning a dark room into an energy efficient, properly lighted room. And this includes effective lighting for art work. My reputation depends on your satisfaction!

Dan Kelly has done projects for our 6 unit vintage apt bldg for over 6 years. Jobs: installing outside motion sensitive lighting at our entrances; checked all electrical lines from site to basement electrical boxes to assure/create correct connections and circuitry; installed new ceiling fixtures, lighting for 6 basement storage units all of which assures us the bldg is in compliance with city codes. Dan is a delight to have on site. He's friendly, helpful and very informative of what work he's performing in a timely, neat and professional manner. We are delighted to have a trusted professional on call and highly recommend him to others.

I am in the real estate field having worn multiple hats as a commercial and residential property owner, property manager, managing broker and appraiser for the past 30 years. I typically obtain multiple bids when hiring different types of contractors and monitor the work being completed by the chosen contractor. Dan has completed several jobs including rewiring and running new conduit for older apartment and commercial units as well as installing specialty lighting fixtures. He is methodical, performs quality work and charges reasonable prices. He discusses the scope of work in as much detail as the client is comfortable with which in my case is pretty in depth and lays out viable alternatives when required. I recommend his services as an electrician.

I've been dealing with Dan for over 20 years. The work he's performed for me in my home always has been perfect. If I've had a major project, he always offers a quote; never has the final cost been more than the quote. Dan also takes care of any electrical issues for our small condominium building. Again, he always gives the Board a quote, the final cost is never more than quoted and the work always is outstanding. It is hard for us to find qualified, licensed and bonded electricians who are willing to do work for smaller buildings. Dan's never refused a job, and adjusts his schedule according to the severity of our needs. Dan often has warned us about non-electrical issues. For instance, over 15 years ago when I was in the midst of a kitchen renovation project, he not only fixed a potential fire hazard, he noticed shoddy plumbing and referred me to someone with whom he worked to correct the problem. As long as he is in business, Dan will have the condominium association's and my business.
