Pembroke Jones Drive | Sep 2013 | This Tuscan Villa style home has a gorgeous view of the Intercoastal Waterway and Atlantic Ocean. It is designed and oriented to maximize the view and has folding French doors on both the first and second floors that fold open onto covered terraces. This home is also very eco-friendly and includes many green design elements including geothermal heat pumps on a pond loop system for heating and cooling. The Mediterranean feel of this home is enhanced by the extensive use of tumbled travertine tile with a chiseled edge, laid in a Versailles pattern. Archways, rounded corners, walls that are painted to look like old Venetian plaster, and 5" character grade wood flooring all work in harmony to create an Old World charm. The home features a ten seat theatre room with surround sound. The foyer chandelier has a lift system so it can be lowered for easier cleaning. RMB also had a custom elevator with tile flooring installed at the request of the homeowners. Despite the size of the home, the owners state that it feels very livable and cozy. | Wilmington, NC | ||
