Megan Flege of BT Top To Bottom Construction responded to my inquiry on Nextdoor for a reliable and fair full service contractor. She provided a contact phone number. When I called that number the inbox was full so there was no possible way for me to leave a message. Within five minutes of that call I received a text asking who was calling. I recognized the number from the text as being the number I had just called for BT Top to Bottom Construction. I texted back my name and the purpose for my call. Within another five minutes I received a call from Brian with BT Top to Bottom Construction. Since it was getting late in the evening, about 6:30 P.M. , Brian ask what a good time would be for him to call for the purpose of discussing my project. I said "tomorrow after 10:00 A.M. Brian said he would call me "tomorrow" after 10:00 A.M. He did not call at that time nor did he call for several days. After I posted on Nextdoor that I am wary of a contractor whose phone inbox is full and he does not call as promised I received a call from Brian saying he was in transit from Southern Alabama and did not have cell service there where he had been for the holidays. He said he would call me the following morning after he got his crews started. When he did not call again I posted that he was unreliable and I would not have further interest in his calls. Brian called me at 2:30 P.M. that day to lecture me about my post. I explained, politely, that he had NOT kept his commitment two times to call me at the agreed upon time. He became loud and extremely rude . I told him I had no further interest in his services and hung up. He immediately called me back and began to shout over the phone. I told him at that time I had previously thought to just let it go but since he became nasty and was so adamant about lecturing me I would post a complaint against him. Thereafter I received Nextdoor replies from Megan Flege of BT Top to Bottom Construction claiming I was seeking a contractor to WRITE A LETTER SO I COULD SUE the builder of my house and that I expected for BT to jump right on my project. I replied to her that the builder of my house had been deceased for more that six years and it was impossible to sue a corpse. I never had the chance to discuss a schedule or time frame for my project because Brian ,first, did not call me as promised and when he called he jumped right into lecturing me about my post before I could get past hello. My entire adult working career was as a general contractor. 45 years of it before retirement. I am now 80 years old and have been retired for almost 15 years. I have lost contact with the superintendents I employed and the sub-contractors we used so I am reaching out for someone fair and reliable. Brian and Megan with BT Top to Bottom Construction are not only unreliable, they both have attempted to cover up that unreliability with fabrications and dishonesty. BEWARE of this kind of company and especially this kind of management. A full phone inbox is a first RED FLAG for poor and unacceptable management of a business.

Brian was sent out to my home by Home Warranty of America to put freon in my AC unit as it was running low. To begin with, after 24 hours of not hearing from him again, he answered and stated he would come out now, he was sorry, he forgot about us and lost our paperwork. Several hours later he arrived and was rude from the very beginning. He had an attitude and did not do anything himself but just instructed his employee to run and do this or that (the employee himself was actually very kind). After about an hour to an hour and a half of "waiting for the unit to defrost so he could check the freon level", he has his employee go under our house and remove our air filter, which was just changed 3 weeks ago and insisted all of our problems was because the air filter was dirty and that he knows our home warranty would not cover this. While I reviewed and showed him our warranty paperwork that stated it indeed covered freon, he immediately began arguing with me stating he has been doing this work for 20+ years. At this point I went inside my home and called the warranty company. While on hold, my husband came in from outside and stated he put a pound of freon in the unit and we owe him the charge from the service call per the warranty plus the charge for the freon. Brian then came in my home and began telling me he needed his money or if I choose to just give him the amount for the service call, he would go retract the freon out of the unit. I instructed him I would pay him the charge for the service call that I owed per my home warranty company, but would not pay him anymore until I was instructed to do so by the warranty company. He then became very loud and aggressive with me, in my home, just a room over from my sleeping toddler. I asked him several times to leave my home and wait in his truck in the driveway or accept. He still stood in front of me and in my husbands voice telling us how wrong he was. After much more arguing, he stated he would take the $100. After I gave the check to my husband for him to walk him out and ensure he left the property, he then insisted he would not take a check, it had to be cash. I gave him the cash and my husband then walked him out. (In addition, after speaking to the home warranty company, it is all indeed covered)
