Jan 2015

The two-story, great room plan includes four bedrooms, four-and-a-half baths, formal dining, a library, an island kitchen, an upstairs loft, a three-car garage and a one-car garage. The great room, library and master bedroom open to an outdoor living space with covered dining and conversation areas, an outdoor kitchen, pool and spa. An upgraded HVAC system and Control-4 Home Automation System are also included. Marc Michaels has created a clean, fresh color palette that includes soft creamy blues with pops of camel and navy blue against a white background. The interiors fabric selections mix neutral tones with dark navy blue and camel accents. The flooring throughout the first floor living areas is a mix of grey-toned lime stone and wide-planked wood. Visitors to the home will be greeted in a warm, friendly foyer with dark-stained wood flooring, a charming buffet furniture piece, and a mirror detail in a square grid pattern that contributes to the homes open feeling. The mirror is flanked by pendant sconces. The foyer provides a captivating see-through view of the Anna Marias massive great room, outdoor living area, and pool. A soaring vaulted ceiling with a painted tongue-in-groove finish and medium-toned beam accents offers an impressive memory point in a great room space that fully opens to the outdoor living area. Comfortable furnishings are positioned in front of a feature wall with a textured wall covering. A media cabinet in a driftwood finish includes door fronts with a textured wave pattern that provides visual interest. The seating area includes matching creamy linen sofas that form an inviting L-shape that is open to the foyer, a pair of camel chenille fabric accent chairs with an interesting pattern on each side, and a dark-toned cocktail table with an open base that incorporates a triangle detail. The great room flows easily into a stunning island kitchen and dining area. The kitchens upgraded Omega perimeter cabinetry combines two upper quarter-sawn towers in a medium-toned Riverbed finish with white lower cabinets. The island base incorporates both of the perimeters painted finishes and features an X-pattern detail. The counter surfaces throughout the kitchen are white quartz. Subzero, Wolf, and Meile appliances will satisfy the needs of the most discriminating gourmet cook. Four bar stools at the counter height island feature low backs and neutral linen seats that convey a coastal feeling. A wet bar adjacent to the kitchen includes medium-toned washed wood cabinetry and a white quartz countertop. The Anna Marias casual elegance continues in a spacious dining area that features a large farm table. The table is flanked by skirted host and hostess chairs and side chairs with carved oak backs. The chairs neutral linen fabric contributes to the dining areas warm, friendly feeling. The great room and dining area open to a beautifully appointed outdoor living area. New American Home

Jan 2014

Beautiful, sustainable, and supremely flexible, The 2014 New American Home is a stunning portrait of how innovative floor plans can adapt to the needs of todays families. Multi-generational living is something that has been talked about as a design trend for years, but this house really achieves that by having a master bedroom or an owners suite on both levels of the house; you can facilitate one level living on the main level and have your parents or guest suites on the 2nd level. Open space planning was another outstanding feature of this home, suited for entertaining many. We used a lot of texture and different fabrics in The 2014 New American Home. We created juxtaposition of materials and unexpected combinations. Polished and honed; lights and darks, matte and metallic. The color palette used was a tribute to the homes dessert surroundings with pops of accent colors such as peacock and pear. We used the lighting provided by Progress Lighting in innovative ways to create mood lighting in a unique way for each space. We designed the indoor/outdoor living space to play together. The outdoor furniture is cushioned and soft extremely inviting so the outdoor living is appealing and natural. Ready to receive grandparents, guests, or owners who want to live on a single level, the VIP suite offers lux accommodations on the first floor.
