This has been one of the worst customer service experiences of my life. They will talk down to you and not help. Use them at your own risk!

Technician was polite. He tried to unclog our kitchen drain with a 20 foot snake. Then proceeded to say he has no equipment on his truck to finish the job since a 20 foot snake couldn't clear drain. He took my 100$ and left and no one has came back. I have called the manager to call me back but no one has tried to reach me. First of all what plumber comes to a house without a longer snake or equipment to unclog a drain????? Then dissapears without any acknowledgement to finish the job. They are thieves and should not be trusted in your home.

If you're looking for a predatory plumber, you've come to the right place. The guy they sent me from Steven A Mills, I think it was Mark, he was totally dismissive of our attempts to explain the situation and what we wanted to have done. After attempting (and thankfully failing) to open the sewage line and spill its contents into our workshop basement, he told us he would have to saw the end plugs off the sewer pipes. He warned us that it would be a notable additional cost above just routing the drains. We were working with a home warranty company for the service call so he told me they'd have to pre-approve the additional work and let us know what portion we would have to pay for out of pocket. He told us to expect somewhere between $300 - $500 in out of pocket costs. I asked why we couldn't just remove the toilet, go through the smoothly curved 90 degree bend and down the line with an auger and snake the drain that way. He said there was a one inch piece that, if he screwed it up, he would have to replace the whole line. He wasn't clear on what this was. He wouldn't snake the drain, wouldn't even try. He insisted cutting the ends of my pipes off was the only way. Then he left. He left without actually doing anything of value. He left while my family had no working toilets and no clear idea of how it would get resolved. He assured us they'd get back to us in an hour. He assured us he would be back that night. Neither of these things happened. When we got up the next morning, still no usable toilets in the house, my wife and I decided to call another plumber. I'd drop their name and highly recommend them, but this isn't about them this is about my experience with Steven A Mills. We paid another plumber $300, plus $150 emergency service fee. They came and removed the toilet, snaked the drain without issue, put on a new wax ring and replaced the toilet, thoroughly cleaned the area, and were on their way within a little over an hour, about as much time as it took the previous plumber to perform the non-service described above. The next day, about 46 hours after the plumber from Steven A Mills left, what would be 2 1/2 days without working toilets, I got a call from the home warranty company to discuss the additional services needed, the costs, and an appointment time. Of course I let them know that no further work is wanted from that company, and I will never allow them on my property again. I gave them the whole story and I'm hoping they'll cover a portion of the cost for the service I received from the other plumber. Even if the home warranty won't cover any of the cost, I'm glad I got a better plumber to my home, and I'm glad I didn't let the plumber from Steven A Mills cut my pipes and cause a sewage disaster in my basement. I suggested to the home warranty company that they cut ties with Steven A Mills plumbing entirely. I hope they do, because nobody should have to go through that much hassle and still not have their plumbing fixed that night.
