The Art of Steeling provides one of a kind, custom, hand forged, decorative iron work, sculpture, fine art, architectural iron railing and gates as well as historic reproduction pieces such as trivets, hooks, hangers, fireplace tools, fireplace screens, old fashioned cooking tripods for outdoor cooking as well as iron and wood furniture and interior decor. I am a blacksmith artist and quality not quantity is the driving force of my work. My work will last a lifetime.

Steven's talent and vision offers endless possibilities for custom/one-off projects. I've come to him with ideas for two projects; both things never done before. Both were executed flawlessly and absolute works of art. I recommend him to anyone I know who needs custom metal work done, whether it be purely functional, just for looks or both.

A true artist! Heart and soul into every piece. I wish I could afford more, if you want cheap go elsewhere.

I live a long way away, and I had absolutely no problems at all in describing what I wanted and received it - PERFECTLY - arrived within a great time frame, packed extremely well, and at a reasonable cost. My piece is definitely a talking point. Love this guys work. One very happy customer.

Superb craftsmanship and wonderful customer rapport and service. Art of Steeling made several beautiful steel railroad spike/reclaimed wood hook fixtures for my home. They complement the "lodge" type interior perfectly!

Nadel Fireplace Fender | Jan 2015 | Hand forged fireplace fender that was 8 foot long 21 inches high and 12.5 inches deep. This fender weighs 390 pounds and was an amazing addition to the home. We have designed a fire place wood box that will accent the fender | $7k | Travelers Rest, SC
Adrian's Flowers | Dec 2014 | This was a commission for a customer in Canada as well as a collaboration with the brilliant and versitile artist Muriel Ring. He wanted 4 hand forged flowers, each one representing the birth flower of someone in his family. An Astor, a Larkspur, A Violet and a Rose. We incorporated a small cork screw vine with a cup to hold a live flower and water. | $3k | Fletcher, NC
Coker Residence | Jun 2014 | Exterior hand forged laurel branch railing. This project was a little tricky. All the posts were forged to look like tree trunks with branches coming off them, reaching out to a handrail that had been textured. The stair railing was also hand forged and textured to look like laurel branches. Normally, any top rail would not be textured as it is against code, also, the stair railing must have pickets placed in such a way that a 4 inch ball call not fit through any part of the railing. The customer did not want it to look too cluttered with branches and did want the grab rail to have texture, so they signed a waiver agreeing that they understood it was not to code. I love the look of this railing and it will still be there hundreds of years from now. The laurel branch grab rail going up the walk way had to be forged and fitted on site. | $9k | Tuxedo, NC
Exterior Sculpture | Jan 2013 | This was a commissioned sculpture that was a collaboration with master wood carver, Don Blackwell. The title is "The Guardians". This piece was unveiled in December 2013. It took a total of 333 hours to build and ironically has exactly 333 leaves. Every part of this was hand forged, all the branches have bark texture, the leaves were individually cut out by hand. Truly a remarkable piece that looks so real, it fooled some of the people that came to the unveiling as real ivy vines. This sculpture is 55 inches tall, 34 inches wide and 21 inches deep. All Fibonacci numbers. | $10k | Tryon, NC
