I can strongly recommend Spivey & Sparks Construction for general home improvement work. My wife and I purchased a home that needed some updating and I wanted to have a local general contractor oversee the whole project as opposed to dealing with the individual trades myself because we had a very short time frame between our closing and our belongings arriving from out of state. I reached out to Stewart based on the reviews I saw here and on Home Advisor and after a phone conversation he felt that the project was in his scope and that the timeline we had would work so we scheduled a time for him to visit the property prior to closing to inspect the property. Steward provided a written estimate and was very open to modifications that we wanted to make based on the estimate, including removing some items from the scope in order for us to stay within our budget. As we got closer to closing, Stewart was in touch to make sure that all of the trades were lined up and the materials were on order. Stewart and his crew as well as the subcontractors arrived as scheduled and immediately got to work. All of the work that was done by the Spivey & Sparks crew as well as the subcontractors, including removing carpet and installing new hardwood floors, new tile floor, scraping of popcorn ceilings and painting was done well, on schedule and on budget. Stewart and Mike were also very open to modifications that I requested as well as additions to the scope, including a last minute decision to do additional flooring work that we had initially removed from the contract and installing a new sliding glass door, light fixture and other general maintenance items. Great care was taken by the Spivey & Sparks crew for the final trim work, which is often not the case. In addition to the fine work, the whole Spivey & Sparks crew were beyond polite, enjoyable to be around, answered my questions, gave recommendations on best practices and were completely trustworthy. I felt that I was in good hands and that everything would be taken care of throughout our three weeks working together. They treated my home as if it was their own and any issues that arose were dealt with quickly and to my complete satisfaction.
