TEK Mechanical Service Inc

Had them install a gas water heater on June 8, 2020. Talked to someone on the phone about a cost and his answering svc returned with, what I thought was an ESTIMATE of $1010 cost. Thought it was high but needed the install for the renters convenience and I would talk about cost latter, he wasn't available at the time of my return call. Made several requests, one with service teck and two voice mail messages, for a detailed bill. Received the bill mailed on June 17, 2020 and in it it states, "service tech didn't do itemized bill because it was bid project". it also states, see attached for the break down what may be needed to used for a site unseen bid. customers have 2 choices 1, bid that the price is set or 2, a time and material billing that maybe higher or lower than a ball park number given.". Well, I was not informed for these two options and I find his material and labor estimate very high. What was the $150 labor charge if not for the install? Why all the additional labor charges? I really question his customer service relations and business ethics. Would I recommend the company - NO. Need to say, I will not use them in the future.
