I am a semi-retired pastor who enjoys helping people with their home and business repair and improvement needs. My team includes fellow pastors, family and friends who have a wide array of talents. Our rates are reasonable, and our skills range from fixing your front steps to replacing that old flooring to updating your kitchen. We have a minimum charge of $75; and, depending on the level of skill required, charge anywhere from $35to $50 per hour. We also offer half and full day rates. Besides just having a knack for fixing things, I have enjoyed three decades of hands-on involvement with various housing relief ministries. One of our specialties is helping to resolve accessibility needs for our elderly and handicapped neighbors, including building wheelchair ramps, widening entryways and other needs. The Handy Pastor LLC aims not only to fix your home, but to bless the people who live there.

Our HOA retained Bob to replace the original water shutoff valves of 16 villas in our community in Pawleys Plantation. He partnered with a plumber. The arm of the shutoff valves he chose to replace the existing shutoff valves was too long to be positioned in the fully upright position required to shut off the water. They cloned the replacement to all 16 units without verifying the valve could be shut off. Owners reported they were unable to shut off the water to the new valve (something we ask owners do if they go on vacation for extended periods of time). Bob returned to fix the problem several months later. He replaced the housing of the shutoff valves he replaced with a housing that had a greater diameter than the existing shutoff valves. We had to call him back again to replace the housings of several valves he missed retrofitting. Now our community is left with a unsightly mix of original size valve housings and larger housings he replaced.

I called Bob to put together some patio furniture for me, and he worked me into his busy schedule, and was extremely pleasant and polite. When he got here he was masked (in this covid-19- time) which I really appreciated. He was fast, efficient and meticulous in his work and fair in his pricing. I would definitely recommend him, and I will definitely call him again!

Bathroom Tile Restoration | Dec 2017 | We cleaned, re-grouted and sealed the mosaic tile in two large residential bathrooms, along with a shower stall and tub area. In addition, we repaired and/or replaced the plumbing fixtures. | $1k | Pawleys Island, SC
Cement Board Siding Repair | Dec 2017 | Two small sections of siding cement board siding had been knocked off by an errant hedge trimmer. The goal was to match the siding and the color. I asked the customer if she preferred gray or "rust color." She said she preferred gray... and wondered aloud if there was a way to remove the rust, which had discolored the entire perimeter of her house. We were able to replace and re-paint the siding; and, for a small additional charge, remove the rust stains. She was very pleased with the results! | $125 | Surfside Beach, SC
Backsplash Added to "Vintage" Sink Vanity | Nov 2017 | This sink vanity was custom built in the late 1960s, including the cabinets and formica top. The cost of a replacement was more than this customer wanted to spend, and she felt some sentimental attachment to this "vintage" bathroom furnishing. I proposed a simple backsplash, utilizing a complementary mosaic tile and matching bullnose. The materials cost $40; labor was $125. | $165 | Tobaccoville, NC
Deck Repair and Wheelchair Ramp Construction | Mar 2017 | The deck was substantially rebuilt; steps were replaced; a 40 foot wheelchair ramp was built to ADA specs. | $4k | Surfside Beach, SC
Cypress Table Top for Fire Pit | Oct 2016 | Found 100 year old rough hewn cypress; had it milled to random width and 7/8" thickness; attached to frame designed to fit within circumference of fire pit; cut to allow 4' lip; applied tung oil. | $250 | Murrells Inlet, SC
Floating Dock | May 2014 | Built floating dock from salvaged floats and mostly new lumber. | $2k | Murrells Inlet, SC
Custom Steps & Cubbies | Mar 2019 | Built steps out of western cedar to conceal dryer duct and existing uneven brick steps; added cubbies in adjacent space. | $750 | Murrells Inlet, SC
Stained Concrete Patio Area | Aug 2015 | Cleaned and prepped the surface of 500 square feet of a porch and patio area; then stained the surface with multiple coats of penetrating stain. | $1k | Murrells Inlet, SC |
