BAD BUSINESS (Crawlspace Solutions, Rivers Ave, Charleston, SC) If I could rate 0 out of 5 stars, I would. I had my crawlspace encapsulated by Crawlspace solutions two years ago... and I picked them because their quote was a few thousand cheaper than the other estimates from local competitors. Well, I didn't take to heart what my mother tried to teach me- that you get what you pay for. I should have known that it would be a bad experience from the get go. When I called David Ahrens for a quote, he had me email him the quotes I received from the other companies (I have all of these emails). He then underbid them, without actually coming to my home (physically). His team began installation, and quickly found out that the estimates from the other company, which were for one large dehumidifier, would not work in my crawlspace. The unit was too large. They even tried to dig a hole into the dirt to make the unit fit, to no avail. So, then Mr. Ahrens reneged on his quote, and told me that I had to buy two units, instead of one. Well, this mistake was not mine, it was his. He asked for another $1000 to pay for the two units. So, I told him that I would help out on this, and would give him $400 since this mistake was not mine, it was his failure to give an accurate quote. After that, we had our yearly inspection this past month- and when I asked him to come back out to rectify the issues that were found during the inspection, he said he would be out to "make things right". Some of the materials weren't attached correctly, and is falling off the walls (you can see the water laying on the ground behind the liner where it wasn't installed all the way to the walls), the condensate pumps weren't cleaned correctly, and the filters weren't changed (and I paid $195 to have this inspection and filters done). We had agreed upon a Saturday appointment, and he failed to show. Since then, I have called many times, left messages, sent texts, and emails- not ONE SINGLE return call/text/email. His former employee (who came to do my yearly inspection) informed me that he quit working for David, and that David and his receptionist (who is a girlfriend) create fake accounts to give their business fake "good" reviews. Horrible business owner, and refuses to make good on bad work installation. I have proof of all of this, and I informed him that if he didn't return my phone calls/texts/emails, I would report him to the BBB, and write reviews wherever I could to make sure that nobody else in the Charleston SC area (Tri-County area) were deceived like my family has been. As I said, I have the proof of this- and there is no way he can contest what has occurred. I just want everyone to know what a shoddy job he did, and how he will not make good on his work.
