About Joe Percario Contractors
Joe Percario continues a three-generation family tradition of providing quality home improvement projects throughout New Jersey. The story of the three generations of Percarios in America is both fascinating and inspiring. It began in the Italian town of Pescopennataro at the turn of the century. The mountainous town had little to offer in means to make a living. So in the late 1920's Andrea traveled to America and landed in the Peterstown section of Elizabeth, NJ, determined to make a good life for himself and take care of his mother back home. Andrea, "Andy" in America, taught himself to read and write in English, and also taught himself carpentry while making ends meet with odd jobs as a laborer. Every evening he would build models of houses, figuring out the correct construction techniques to build them to scale. After a few years he earned entry to the Carpenter's Union, which launched his career in home remodeling and construction. By example, Andrea taught his sons including, Joe Percario, Sr. (Joe's father), that they could persevere and thrive through hard work and dedication. And that they did, with Joe Sr. ultimately forming Percario General Contractors in 1953. The Percarios earned a reputation of providing old world European craftsmanship for homeowners in New Jersey. Learning how to swing a hammer in his grandfather's basement and taught the trade first-hand by his father and uncles, Joe Jr. now owns and operates the family business that has always taken great pride in working hard and doing the best job possible. At Joe Percario General Contractors, we are not just selling new windows, doors, siding, additions or renovations. We are selling our family name and reputation. We are truly all about improvement, not just for your home, but also for your life in it!
