Job Review for 10/11 – 10/15/22 Mark Hatting: Freedom Fence Company Summerville, SC 29485 843-270-0642 This man is not to be trusted on what he says, he very unprofessional, dishonest, and does a poor job. This is a short timeline; otherwise it would be an epic novel. Tuesday 10/11/22 evening: Mark came by to get information and to give price. Sales Pitch Terms for the job: 400’ of chain link fencing, 2 gates and a vehicle gate. Collect money when the job is complete. I agreed to purchase the materials that were half of the cost of the job. Start on Wednesday morning 10/12, after we meet at Manar Fencing Supply at 10:30am. Wednesday 10/12/22: Late for the materials purchase. Did not show up on jobsite to start. Thursday 10/13/22: 8:40 finally got text saying he had vehicle trouble (Lie). Job start @11:30am about 12 post were placed. 6:13pm Text: “Will resume in the morning… 9:30ish” Friday 10/14/22: Late again 10:52 work starts. 3:44pm done for the day. Another text: “Bob. May I get an 800 dollar draw on job? May have to rent Jackhammer for two posts. Concrete under gravel. Guys are used to getting paid on Friday. And I have nothing to give them. Job is 2/3s done and materials are all on site Don't know if you use cash app, zelle, venmo or old fashioned check. Either way, it would be greatly appreciated. Normally I get a half down deposit that usually has a remainder. You paid for materials and I've got nothing for my labor. Thanks, Mark” 3:48pm I called Mark, explained that if he completes the job tomorrow Saturday 10/15/22 he will get paid in full has agreed upon. Mark: ”In cash?” 4:25pm Text “Cash Motivates” Saturday 10/15/22: 9:30am work starts and is done 8:30pm. He never allowed his 2 workers to go get a lunch or break. I should have had the material delivered, because I would have fired Mark that day. I did not know what he already had picked up. I found out that he dropped off some railing on Tuesday night @9:30pm and he had been drinking. Also he kept leaving the job, instead of leaving his 2 young workers to try to figure things out. On Saturday, Mark came and went most of the day. I had to stand in the yard and watch over the job, to make sure everything was done correctly. Had to make him correct mistakes and finally threaten to $100 penalties for each item I find wrong. Yes he poured dry cement round the poles and the holes were only dug @ 4 inches dip. They piled drove the down. Not everything is straight and level. He tried to keep all the extra materials I had purchased, and then wanted to start an argument about it. So he got chewed out in front of his workers. He kept mouthing off loudly so he Come to find out he had been drinking when he was leaving the job and coming back. I gave him is money, told him not never to return or contact us again. I will be getting a trespass order against this man, to make sure he does not come back. To top it off, he almost hit a tree in the yard and then backed into the ditch and got stuck. Like I said this is the short version
