The type of roof covering depends on your budget, and on your roof structure. Concrete tiles are expensive and heavy. If you currently have fiberglass shingles, your roof may not be designed for the extra weight. A lapped seam or standing seam metal roof may be a good option for your area. This is also a more costly option compared to fiberglass shingles, but metal may last longer if properly maintained. Fiberglass shingles are good too. You can have zinc strips installed at the ridge to help reduce algae and moss.
