I can't tell you if you can do it yourself because I don't know your skill level. If the old and new dishwashers are similar and if the water supply and drain hose connections are similar and accessible, then replacement is usually easy. An experienced technician should be able to do it in an hour or less. It may take a homeowner a half day. If it's a complicated replacement installation, then it may take a technician a few hours and a homeowner all day. If this is the first dishwasher in the kitchen, things could get very complicated and new plumbing and electrical connections may be necessary. ... Read more

Considering doing a DIY remodel on my bathroom which would mean changing out a traditional shower head for one of those rain ones which would hang over head.

Replacing a shower head in its current location is a simple process and can be done by most homeowners. However, replacing it with an overhead shower head will require a small amount of plumbing experience and a little bit of sheetrock work as well as finish work and painting. That being said, with just a little bit of YouTube time and someone that is pretty good with their hands, a homeowner should be able to do it themselves. However, be careful with the plumbing, it can be a disaster if you mess it up. Hope this helps. ... Read more

If you are handy, at all, YES, you can do it. I use a shop vac to remove all water from tank and bowl. Unscrew floor bolts, lift toilet straight up and place on trash bag. It will have parts of the old wax ring on the bottom. That old wax MUST be removed, before replacing toilet. There are several "replacement" flanges available, depending on your perticular plumbing. They simply replace the tops, or actually slid into the current flange. Your current one is probably glued to waste line piping, so DO NOT attempt to remove. Always get an "extre" thick new wax ring and push toilet down firmly. GOOD LUCK... you can do it. ... Read more
