If you are handy, at all, YES, you can do it. I use a shop vac to remove all water from tank and bowl. Unscrew floor bolts, lift toilet straight up and place on trash bag. It will have parts of the old wax ring on the bottom. That old wax MUST be removed, before replacing toilet. There are several "replacement" flanges available, depending on your perticular plumbing. They simply replace the tops, or actually slid into the current flange. Your current one is probably glued to waste line piping, so DO NOT attempt to remove. Always get an "extre" thick new wax ring and push toilet down firmly. GOOD LUCK... you can do it.
