Types of Bathtub Doors

The two main types of tub doors are sliding and round. Sliding units are space-efficient and are good for wide openings. Typically, the opening size for this type of entry is 60 inches. Round units are curved to help maximize space, so they’re suitable for smaller bathrooms. They open inward and are usually reversible to allow for access from either the left or right.

Bathtub Door Installation Costs

The installation of a bathtub door is a project that can vary in price depending on several variables. The materials from which the unit is made may factor into the price. Another factor is the preparation involved before the door can be installed. If an old tub door must be removed before installation, this can also have an impact on the cost.

Opt for Professional Installation

It can be complicated to install a bathtub door. The pieces can be heavy, which may require more than one person to do the job. Specialized tools may be required as well. If the unit is installed incorrectly, it may break, which leads to more work and a greater expense. To avoid these hassles and ensure proper installation, homeowners should hire a professional contractor to complete the installation.

Shower Door Installation Project in Seattle 98109
Hello,
I'm looking to replace four (4) fixed frame glass shower doors with trim for a medical project in Seattle. Attached are photos and dimensions for the existing shower doors and trim we are trying to match with new doors. Could you please provide a quote for the following shower doors and frames.
Two (2) of the doors are single swing doors. We would like
• obscure glass with a polished aluminum frame finish.
• Door handle is back-to-back pull handles.
• The first with a rough opening of WIDTH 31-5/8" (bottom) & 32-1/4" (top) and HEIGHT
• The second with rough opening of WIDTH 31-5/8" (bottom) & 32" (top) and HEIGHT
For the other two (2) openings we would like a 3' swing door with a fixed panel. We would like
• Both these doors have a rough opening of WIDTH 45-1/4" (bottom) & 45-3/4" (top) and HEIGHT
Since all the existing shower openings are smaller at the bottom than the top, do you supply some kind of slider panel to plumb the showers into place?
In addition, all doors should include a track or flat stock that runs through the bottom of the door opening to cover any existing damage or fastener holes.
Thanks for getting back to me.
Best,
Gordon Krippaehne
